DIY Nourishing Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream

I have been asked by many friends of mine for my recipe to my facial night cream.  I would like to share with you a really amazing face cream that I have been using for about 2 years now. I played with and combined a few recipes until I made my own. Not only is it homemade (so you know exactly what’s in it) but it also has the powerful anti-wrinkle AND nourishing ingredients that our skin craves for! Cocoa butter is an excellent anti-wrinkle ingredient, and it is also great for dull, dry and tired skin. The cream here will last a long time. And if you make a double batch, like I do, you can simply keep it in a sealed glass jar labeled at the back of the refrigerator for future use (in case summers get too hot and this way your cream will last for months and months!)

You probably have most of the ingredients in your home too. The ingredients that I use in this cream recipe are literally amazing!

Raw shea butter and extra virgin coconut oil are excellent moisturizers that nourish your skin, help to heal the skin, and that are wonderful skin protectors.

– Jojoba oil (I use this kind) is another great moisturizer, and this one helps to control oily skin and also counteracts acne formation.

– Sweet almond oil (like this one) is loaded with vitamin E which is a very potent antioxidant, reduces puffy eyes and dark circles, and is anti-aging.

– A combination of potent/pure essential oils (personally, I can highly recommend these ones)

~ Helichrysum: excellent for fine lines and wrinkles, and heals blemishes (like this one)

~ Frankincense: “king” of all essential oils: very potent beautifying results (I use this one)

~ Lavender: soothes skin irritations

~ Geranium: smoothing effects for a glowing, even skin tone

Ingredients:

* 1/2 cup cocoa butter

* 1/4 cup coconut oil

* 2 Tablespoons Jojoba oil

* 2 Tablespoons sweet almond oil

* 40 drops total of pure essential oils (10 Helichrysum, 10 Frankincense, 5 Lavender, 5 Geranium)

Directions:

  1. In a double boiler, over in a bowl over a pot of boiling water, melt the cocoa butter.
  2. Combine melted cocoa butter with the coconut oil, jojoba oil, and almond oil in a mixing bowl (combine well with hand mixer or stand mixer)
  3. Place the bowl in the fridge until it begins to harden.
  4. Once cooled and hardened, put the bowl under your stand mixer or use hand mixer to whip it up well.
  5. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula several times and whip some more until all is well combined.
  6. Whip until nice and fluffy, and then add the essential oils, whipping again until combined.
  7. Store in small glass jars or desired container(s).
  8. Use it morning and night. Apply a small amount to cover face and neck. It seems greasy at first, but you realize especially in the morning that it is ALL absorbed well into your skin.

And this, dear mommas, is my all time favourite homemade face cream!
